August 29, 1997, is a big day. This date marks a major change in the world of the Terminator series. It’s the day Skynet, an evil computer, takes control. A new anime series called Terminator Zero will show this story and will premiere on Netflix on August 29, 2024.

In the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, we learn about Skynet. Skynet is a smart computer network. It becomes self-aware on August 29, 1997. After that, it fights humans in a big war. This war has people and robot fighters. Some robots even travel through time. This war covers many years.

In Terminator Zero, a soldier travels back in time. She comes from the future to the year 1997. Her mission is to change the future and save humanity. She must protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee. Malcolm is working on a new AI system. This system could fight against Skynet. But things get complicated.

Malcolm faces tough choices about his AI creation. He has to decide what is right and wrong. Meanwhile, a deadly assassin from the future hunts him. This changes the lives of his three children forever.

Who Are Behind the Creation of Terminator Zero anime?

Terminator Zero is being created by some talented people and companies. Here are the key players:

Skydance: A well-known production company.
Production I.G.: A famous Japan animation studio.
Mattson Tomlin: The creator, showrunner, and writer of the series.

Mattson Tomlin has written for Netflix before. He wrote Project Power, a movie starring Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He is also writing The Batman II.
