A new movie called One to One: John & Yoko is about the life of famous singer John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono after The Beatles broke up. The movie is made by Kevin MacDonald, a filmmaker from Scotland.
In 1972, John Lennon gave his last big concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Yoko Ono was with him. This concert was called the One to One benefit concert.
Kevin MacDonald has made other movies like Whitney and The Last King of Scotland. In One to One: John & Yoko, there are new things like concert audio remixed by John Lennon’s son, Sean Ono Lennon. There are also old videos and phone calls made by John and Yoko.
Kevin MacDonald said he wanted to surprise and make happy the biggest fans of John and Yoko. The movie shows a special time in their lives with their own words, pictures, and music. The movie uses old 16mm film from the One to One concert and gives a close look at how John and Yoko made new music after The Beatles.
One to One: John & Yoko is a new movie made by Mercury Studios. It comes out more than 50 years after The Beatles broke up. John Lennon was sadly shot in 1980 when he and Yoko Ono were going home to their building near Central Park in New York.
Sean Ono Lennon, John and Yoko’s son, said the movie shows how his parents worked hard for peace and non-violence during difficult times.
This is the first movie from Plan B/KM Films, a company made by Kevin MacDonald and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Productions. The movie is produced by Peter Worsley, Alice Webb, and Kevin MacDonald. Some of the executive producers are Steve Condie, David Joseph, Marc Robinson, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner.
Alice Webb, the CEO of Mercury Studios, said the movie is about hope. It looks closely at an important year in John and Yoko’s lives, showing their politics, youth culture, personal growth, and amazing art. She is excited to share this story with fans.
