Ellen DeGeneres, a famous comedian, talk show host, and Emmy-Award winning actor, will have a new comedy special later this year. She says this will be her last one.
This new show is her second special with Netflix. It comes six years after her 2018 special ‘Relatable‘. In ‘Relatable‘, Ellen talked about her journey to fame and the lessons she learned.
Ellen ended her long-running talk show, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘, in 2022 after 19 seasons. She knows people have many questions. “Yes, I’m going to talk about it,” she said. “Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.”
Ellen will also start a multi-city stand-up tour on June 19th. The tour will begin in San Diego.
The new special will be produced by Ben Winston and Fulwell73. It will be on Netflix later this year. “There is nobody quite like Ellen,” said Robbie Praw, Vice President of Stand-Up and Comedy Formats at Netflix. “She is a true legend and pioneer in so many ways. We can’t wait to bring fans another one of her hilarious comedy specials later this year.”
Ellen received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, from President Obama. She was honored for her big contributions to change and progress in the United States. In 2023, her love for animals was shown in a special called ‘Saving the Gorillas: Ellen’s Next Adventure‘. This aired on the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Max, and discovery+.
