Our favorite goth girl, Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega), is back for more creepy adventures at Nevermore Academy!

She’s been through some pretty wild stuff—like being chased by scary monsters and dealing with mean kids at school. But now finally, Netflix has renewed Wednesday Season 2 on May 7, 2024 and production of this series has started in Ireland. They’re adding some cool new friends to the mix and the title of the season 2 is “Here We Woe Again“.

Steve Buscemi, who won an award called an Emmy, is joining the cast. Plus, there’s someone from the old Addams Family movies making a comeback. And there are even more awesome actors joining the fun!

 

The people in charge of the show, Miles Millar and Al Gough, are super excited about the new season. They wanted to bring in some fresh faces and some famous actors they admire, and they think they’ve nailed it!

In an interview with Tudum he said “Our goal this season was to discover some fresh faces as well as invite some acting legends we’ve always admired to join Jenna and the gang at Nevermore. When we survey the talent we’ve assembled we could not be more thrilled. Mission accomplished.”

What is Wednesday Season 2 all about?

Wednesday Season 2 is all about diving deeper into the supernatural mysteries surrounding Wednesday Addams during her time at Nevermore Academy. Even when the show was renewed in January 2023, they promised more thrilling adventures were on the horizon. In an announcement video, they hinted at even more “torture” for our favorite teen sleuth—something Wednesday herself wouldn’t shy away from.

Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday, shared that her character stays true to herself and doesn’t bend over backwards to please anyone. She admires Wednesday’s determination and independence, especially since she used to be a people pleaser herself.

And it’s not just Jenna who loves Wednesday—fans worldwide have been hooked on her eerie escapades. In fact, in July 2023, the show scored an impressive 12 Primetime Emmy Award nominations!

In Wednesday Season 2, a bunch of new faces are joining the spooky fun! As series regulars, we’ve got some big names stepping into the eerie world of Nevermore Academy. There’s Steve Buscemi, known for movies like “The Big Lebowski” and shows like “Boardwalk Empire.” Then we have Billie Piper, who’s starred in “Scoop” and “I Hate Suzie,” along with Evie Templeton from “Return to Silent Hill” and “Lord of Misrule,” Owen Painter from “Tiny Beautiful Things” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and Noah Taylor from “Law & Order: Organized Crime” and “Park Avenue.”

And that’s not all! We’ve also got some awesome guest stars making appearances. Remember Christopher Lloyd from the Addams Family movies? He’s back, along with Joanna Lumley from “Fool Me Once” and “Absolutely Fabulous,” Thandiwe Newton from “Westworld” and “Crash,” Frances O’Connor from “The Missing” and “The Twelve,” Haley Joel Osment from “The Kominsky Method” and “Somebody I Used to Know,” Heather Matarazzo from “The Princess Diaries” and “Scream,” and Joonas Suotamo.

What is the production status and what is expected release date for Wednesday season 2 ?

After a bit of waiting, we finally have an update on Wednesday Season 2. First off, the good news. It was officially renewed back in January 2023. But then things went a bit quiet, and we didn’t have much info on when we’d get to dive back into the eerie world of Nevermore Academy.

But fear not, for Netflix has just made a thrilling announcement! As of May 7, production for Wednesday Season 2 has kicked off in Ireland. and we can expect Wednesday Season 2 to premier during next summer in 2025.
